Before Departure:

  • Maintenance Check: Ensure the RV is serviced and in good condition (check engine, brakes, tires, batteries, etc.).
  • Utility Check: Verify that all utilities are functioning (water, gas, electricity, and sewage systems).
  • Safety Gear: Pack a fire extinguisher, first-aid kit, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
  • Documentation: Gather necessary documents (registration, insurance, roadside assistance info, and any campground reservation confirmations).

Arrival at Campsite:

  • Site Inspection: Check for level ground and any overhead or ground obstacles.
  • Leveling the RV: Use leveling blocks or jacks to ensure the RV is stable and level.
  • Connect Utilities:
    • Connect to the electrical hookup.
    • Attach the water hose to the freshwater supply.
    • Set up the sewage hose for the waste water system.
  • Secure the RV: Chock the wheels to prevent rolling.

Living Area Setup:

  • Slide-Outs: Extend slide-outs, if applicable, ensuring there’s enough space and they are securely locked in place.
  • Awning Deployment: Carefully extend the awning, checking for stability and wind conditions.
  • Outdoor Space: Set up outdoor rugs, chairs, and tables for additional living space.
  • Ventilation: Open vents or windows as needed to ensure good air circulation.

Kitchen and Appliances:

  • Refrigerator: Turn on and adjust to the correct temperature.
  • Propane Gas: Turn on for the stove, oven, and heating system.
  • Water Heater: Switch on the water heater, allowing time for the water to warm up before use.
  • Stock Supplies: Ensure you have all necessary cooking utensils, food, and cleaning supplies.

Bedroom and Bathroom:

  • Bedding: Arrange beds with fresh linens.
  • Bathroom Setup: Stock the bathroom with toiletries, towels, and toilet chemicals if using an RV-specific toilet system.
  • Clothing: Organize clothes and personal items in designated storage areas.

Entertainment and Connectivity:

  • Internet and TV: Set up any satellite, antenna, or Wi-Fi connections for entertainment.
  • Charging Stations: Organize a charging station for devices.

Final Checks:
